The Nick Fish is a mixed-use development located in the Gateway district of Portland, immediately adjacent to Gateway Discovery Park. The development, a partnership between Human Solutions and Edlen & Company consists of mixed-income housing, office space for Human Solutions, and ground floor commercial space owned and managed by Prosper Portland, the city’s economic development agency. The 75 rental apartment units include 52 affordable units for households earning between 30% and 60% AMI, and 23 middle-income units. The complex will also have ground-floor retail space for as many as nine businesses, including two restaurants. The retail space will be reserved for small local businesses owned by people of color. Targeting a LEED Multifamily Midrise Gold certification, a high-efficiency mechanical system will deliver fresh air to each unit. Other features include an airtight building envelope, an extensive green roof, low-VOC finishes, and LED lighting.
